Welcome to my Web Pages

Welcome to my personal web pages I hope you find the following information of interest.

I graduated in Business Studies before training as an accountant.  As a student I was founding director of the Cambridge University backed company set up to replace the National Union of Student Travel Services following its financial collapse in 1975.

My early career involved company acquisitions and mergers within multi-national organisations. This was followed by company restructuring assignments during the recession years of the 1980s.  It was during this period that I became increasingly involved with company automation and the introduction of early corporate computerisation.  At 30 I was featured in Computing Magazine as one of a new breed of information technology directors, working first for Burma Oil followed by the Department of Trade and Industry. I moved to Grey Communications Corporation in the early 90s where I led on the use of the Internet as an advertising medium.

By 1996 I had set up a high tech consultancy company undertaking Year 2000 and euro compliance assignments in the financial and telecoms sectors.

I have known St Neots all my life, I have been married to Lindsay for 38 years and our two daughters were educated at Crosshall and Longsands Schools in St Neots.

I have served as a town councillor for Eaton Ford and Priory Park since 2007.  I was a Mayor of St Neots between 2011 and 20013 and I am currently Chairman of the Town Council Finance Committee and Deputy Chairman of St Neots Development and Growth Committee.

In 2010 I was elected to represent St Neots Priory Ward at the District Council and in 2011 I was appointed to the District Council's Cabinet where I hold the portfolio for Revenues, Benefits, Housing and IT.

I represent Little Paxton and St Neots at the County Council. where I sit on the Overview and Scrutiny Committee for Enterprise, Growth and Community Infrastructure.   I am also a member of  Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Authority.

I was a volunteer adviser for the Citizens Advice for 10 years and support many local groups such as the Friends of Sudbury Meadow, Priory Park and Paxton Pits.  I am also involved in St Neots in Bloom, the Town Museum and I founded the St Neots branch of the Royal Society of St George.  In addition I raise money for other local charities.
